"Alright cousins, Doc checked in at Royal Buffet in Philly and let me paint the full picture. The aesthetic is current, giving upscale buffet vibes without trying too hard. Customer service was on point, friendly, timely, no attitude, no confusion, which already puts them ahead of the game. Now let's get to what y'all really came for. I'm not about to inventory the whole building, just the heavy hitters. First stop, the meats. I saw oxtail and almost fell out in the aisle. Now listen, it was not mi Caribbean, slow-simmered, Sunday-at-grandma's oxtail, but it was tender and respectable, so I'll give credit where it's due. The lamb, however, was giving very well done, steakhouse well done, meaning dry-adjacent. My professional suggestion, bring your own seasoning spirit because it needs a little encouragement. Next up, sticky rice. First time having it and consider me converted. The salmon was delightful, slightly overcooked but still holding its dignity. That fried chicken though, whew, they seasoned and cooked that just for y'all, brown hearts all around. I also enjoyed the fries, pineapple, and plantains, solid sides doing exactly what sides are supposed to do. Seafood corner. The lobster was a bit overcooked, not tragic, just thirsty. You will absolutely need butter and some Obey seasoning for the lobster and the mussels, don't be shy. The crawfish, however, was cooked and seasoned just right, no notes there. A lot of the other staples tasted exactly as they should, fried rice, coconut shrimp, the usual suspects handled appropriately. Let's not skip the sushi because that section deserves a nod. Nice, expansive collection and they did pretty good with that, enough variety to keep me interested and circling back. Now, bonus Philly point that cannot be ignored. Philly is a BYOB city, so when I saw a bottle of Barefoot on one table and Henny on another, I wasn't mad at it at all. Folks were minding their business, sipping what they like, enjoying their food in peace, and honestly that added to the overall vibe. All in all, I'd come back. I might pull up earlier in the day next time when things are fresher, but overall Royal Buffet held its own. Not perfect, but solid, and solid counts when you're feeding the people."

"Royal Buffet is a solid choice if you're craving a seafood-heavy buffet at a fair price. The standout is definitely the unlimited whole lobsters--they were restocked often, served hot, and came with melted butter on the side. There's also a big selection of seafood including sashimi, crab legs, fried soft-shell crab, and grilled items. Some of the meats at the grill station were a bit overcooked and tougher than I'd prefer, but the variety and portion sizes make up for it. Drinks were included in the price, which is a nice bonus compared to buffets that charge separately. Desserts were better than expected--the ice cream bar with chocolate-coated pops was especially good. The dining area is clean, modern, and spacious, and the staff clears plates quickly. Price: $38.99 per person Senior Discount: $5 off Drinks: Included Best for: Seafood lovers, especially those here for lobster Overall, a great value--come hungry."

"This buffet was amazing. The food was fresh, cooked well, kept at proper temperatures, very tasty, huge selection of different foods to try. Definitely will walk out stuffed. Bring your own bottle, Even have take out if you want something to take home. I got the crab legs to go. Delicious "

"Staff is pleasant. The food b is always fresh and hot with lots of flavor. The lobster and lamb chops were my favorite. The Boba Teas are too sweet to my liking. Be mindful when attending with children. They charge by height, not age. An 11 yr old (4ft 2)was kid price while a 9yr old (5ft) was charged adult price. I would like to return without the kids so I can enjoy the meal. They both ate fries, noodles, fried chicken an ice cream sandwich."

"This is the only buffet that I know of that serves lobsters for only $40 a person which is an amazing deal, and I've been to numerous buffets before that served lobsters and charged $70 or more per person. Also this buffet has grilled shrimp, grilled chicken, crabs, crab legs, soft shell crabs, dinsum, sushi, Peking Duck, ice cream, and more. The service is amazing, the waiting staff instantly comes to your table and picks up your dirty plates periodically, and if you have a birthday, they change the overhead music, and actually sing you a huge birthday song (what other buffet does that?), I went on a Monday where it's not too crazy, but I imagine on the weekends it's so busy that the line comes out the front door. Definitely the best buffet in the northeast at a reasonable price!"
